Check whether a certain agency is accredited on the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) website - http://www.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/accreditation_pg4.html#Nationally%20Recognized

Make sure that the online university you enrolled with has a national or regional fullly accredition status for the following reasons :

Many employers are more likely to recognized an online degree program which has been accredited from an accredited online universities
Earning your online degree program from accredited online universities will save you a few years getting a fake online degree that is considered useless by employers.
Students who want federal or state grants and loans need to attend a fully accredited universities,colleges.
To transfer credits to accredited universities, your credits must come from a school with recognised regional accreditation.
